SFI/TRI Type Rating Instructor Course (Type Specific)

These courses are available for the Boeing B737, B757/767 and Airbus A320. A seven day course of intensive briefing and simulator training which applies the theory learned on the TRI Core Course to Type Transition Training.

Candidates can expect to work hard both in the briefing room and the simulator. In the briefings the ability to describe manoeuvres clearly, aided with the use of colour diagrams is explored. The early part of the course looks at using the Instructor Operating Panel (IOP) and then moves on to the practical exercises. In the simulator

candidates develop the skills needed to teach from the IOP and demonstrate manoeuvres whilst using "instructor's patter" to explain what is required of the student.

Day seven is an assessment by a TRIE (examiner)

When combined with the Core Course candidates acquire the tools necessary to teach effectively and as always, for the benefit of the student.
